The Titan Pro Lawn Mower Review

The Titan Pro Lawn Mower 21” is just a monster with a huge powerful engine and many great features – but is it all just smoke and mirrors or does it deliver?

That opening isn’t too much of an exaggeration. This mower truly is a beast and for a price that makes you look twice. We’ll get into it a bit more later but with a huge 6.5hp power output from the engine and a 51cm (21 inch) rotary blade – I get a sense that this is going to eat the entire garden and not just the lawn.

The mower feels really solid in your hands and you can sense a robustness to it as you begin to unpack the contents and put it together. The instructions aren’t the greatest and are a bit sketchy in places but all in all, the Titan Pro Lawn Mower goes together well. But it’s a heavy one – weighing in at around 45kg. It does have fold away handles and a handy front carry handle which makes things a bit easy when preparing for or putting away after use. Oh, it has a cup holder too!

As you might expect with something so big, the Titan Pro Lawn Mower 21” is a self-propelled large rear wheeled mower. Thankfully. The power that the engine delivers will turn those wheels over the toughest lawn and it skips through undulations and up slopes like the ground was flat. No roller though, which is a shame, although you get the impression that nice striped lawns aren’t in the Titan Pro remit : just get the job done and leave the niceties behind.

So how good a cut does the Titan Pro Lawn Mower 21” give?

It’s pretty good truth be told. That 51cm rotary blade makes light work of the grass whether it’s an even cut to begin with or clumpy. We can’t really understate the size of this beast. If you compare the cutting width with that of the M40-450c, which admittedly is half the price, you have an extra 11cm of cut. That might not seem like much, but when you apply that to a 10 x 10 meter lawn (1000cm), the Titan Pro Lawn Mower will be over 20% more efficient. Whether you’re cutting a small, medium or large lawn, the Titan Pro will deal with it with no problems.

There is also an excellent low cut height of 20mm. Unless you’re wanting to mow a lawn bowling green then this will be more than enough for small and large garden. At the high end we have a 75mm length of cut, which again will be more than enough for what people may want. Within this range there a single lever height adjuster which provides 8 levels of cut settings which is great when you want a little bit of precision.

When it comes to discharge of the grass, the Titan Pro Lawn Mower excels. Tagged onto the back of the mower is a nice big 60 litre collection box which means you’ll gather up more grass in one go and spend more time mowing than emptying. This box can also be removed and the mower turns into a side discharge model.

Finally, there is a mulching option which when it works well is a great feature for any mower to have. Any grass that is cut, then gets cut down even further into itty little bits and instead of it being sent off to the grass box or out of the side, it is reintroduced to the lawn where, in time, it gets broken down and not only fertilizes the soil but helps to protect against disease. It also gives a great finish to the lawn.

We’ve briefly mentioned the engine but this comes with a Titan Loncin engine which is a single cylinder,4-stroke, forced cooling ,OHV according to the blurb. What that means to those without a engineering degree is power. As stated already, 6.5 horses worth of power. There are cars in remote parts of the world that don’t manage that amount of hp .. Sort of. In addition the engine comes equipped with an automatic choke which means that it’s one of the easiest engines in the class to start.

So do we think the Titan Pro Lawn Mower 21” is any good?

Without a doubt, in its price range, you can’t get much better than this 21” Titan. Admittedly, it’s aimed at the more serious mower in mind, whether a professional or somebody with big gardens.

Yes, it’s a shame that there is no roller but this Titan Pro Lawn Mower is designed to mow your lawn, no questions asked and then going out for some beers and a curry with its mates before coming home and eating your duraniums when it has the munchies.

If you were to buy the Titan Pro Lawn Mower today, we’d be very surprised if you were disappointed with it. We’re not.
